Sumrin Welsh Mountain Ponies

Descendants of Nora 191

Although many will list a shortened pedigree by the names of sire and sire of dam, what really distinguishes a pedigree is the female line. In the Welsh mountain pony population, there are only very limited male lines left, those of Coed Coch Glyndwr, Dyoll Starlight, Craven Cyrus, Tan-y-Bwlch Berwyn and Bowdler Blue Boy. female lines are much more diverse. At a first glance, the line of which our foundation mare Dyrin Tina came is perhaps not that well known, but digging back into history, there are lots of top producing ponies in sections A, B and C that can be traced back to that black Welsh Mountain Pony mare, born in 1894 and one of the founding mares at Fforest Lodge, the home of the Forest ponies bred by Mr. Miller in Libanus, Wales.
